Hi everyone. I just wanted to give you all a heads up that we will be upgrading to version 5 shortly. CYN has been eligible to upgrade for awhile, but I didn't want to actually do it until I'd been able to play around within the admin panel and creating the necessary extra graphics needed. I figured this is going to be forced upon us anyway later this year, so why not just get a head start and get to know the new version now? I'm hoping this will possibly spark some new interest in the forum and that this new upgrade won't drive away any current crunchers. You will be receiving an email once the upgrade is complete and ready for you to explore! Thank you!

The upgrade is now done. Everyone enjoy the new features of V5! I still have some smilies to create, as there are now more than the standard 16, so please be patient while I find the time to do that! Other than that, everything should be pretty much complete.

I have to admit, I wasn't fond of it at first, but the more I use it, the more it's growing on me.

The only thing that I truly have to work on are the plug-ins when it comes to my forums. I'm new to that stuff.

Thanks Samantha, I was scared too at first! That's why I waited and didn't upgrade the first chance I got. I wanted to make sure I could make CYN look the same, or at least as similar as I could get it. Mandoli, it's really easy once you get the hang of things! Basically all you have to do is just import the specific plugin and edit the settings that go along with it, then enable it. That welcome table on the main page is a plugin, and I love how easy it is to update the information, thanks to the plugin and its settings.

I really liked doing codes, because it made life easier, but since I assume everyone will eventually upgrade to v5.0, I guess I'll have to learn about plug-ins. Though I tend to screw things up very easily, so I can ultimately see myself doing something wrong.

Yeah I think all forums will be forced to upgrade sometime in April of this year. That's why I just went ahead and figured things out ahead of time. You can still access the coding though, it's just a little different.. you're able to see the template for various sections of the forum, like the board lists and posting page and stuff. I've found that PB Support has been really helpful though when I'm stuck on something that I can't figure out on my own. So you should be okay either way.

I went offline for a few years and technology has completely changed so I'm lost with it all hahaha. I did make a double of my forum (the v5 one) but haven't messed with it at all.. Maybe I should. I'll be crying to you April if I struggle.

I feel like I have more of a handle on how to edit things in the admin panel after messing with it so much these past few days.
