Well we've been hearing a damn lot of what could be the worst natural disaster in US history. I just wanted to give you an oppotunity to explian our thoughts on this event. All i've got to say is why the hell weren't the feds in New Orleans sooner than today and i'm very disappointed at all the news stations for having very racist views on the looters for being black.
Please, I want to hear your thoughts.

The end approaches.... they day after tomorrow is tommorrow Yes, I'm obsessed with that movie
But yeah, this sure was one heck of a storm... how many hundreds of thousands of people are dead, injured, or homeless. , New Orleans is the worlds newest lake, Mississippi is in ruins... It even gave us record rainfall thousands of miles away...

hmm that is just plain awful... I think it's actually very immature of the people to just start shooting at helicopters and police officers who could potentially help them... good people don't just start shooting others at random because they're not getting what they want. I do think the U.S. should be able to send help to get those people to safer institutions, like someone said in there, they have no problem sending massive help to the tsunami overseas, but they can't even help our own people? That's just sad. I just can't imagine what the city's going to look like once it is drained out, especially with all the dead people floating around that they are having to push aside in order to save the surviving victims.

It really is a horrible mess down there... but yeah, I watched the War of the Worlds yesterday, and was thinking that they had it just right on how the state of things would be. People were killing each other just to get into a car. Complete panic hysteria.
That's how it is in New Orleans. It's like the end of the world there too.
But.... like always.... stupid people have to ruin it for everyone. Stupid people drive me NUTS. Some stupid people shoot at helpicopters and such because they're annoyed that they haven't been rescued yet. Because of the stupid people, they stop resucuing people because the paramedics and everyone are terrified of being shot.
UGH

I highly agree with u April, it is very immature of them to shoot at the helicopters that are trying to help them. But gladly, the National Guardsmen arrived to day so hopefully this mess will be over in the next month.

they say that it has a lot to do with organized crime and that the people involved had been planning this from before the hurricane hit.. i swear i hate people like that... they dont want anyone to get help unless they get theirs first. its ridiculous..

Well I just read on Yahoo! News that several fireman and police have commited suicide from the trauma of trying to get New Orleans back together. This seems a lot worse than i first though.

Yeah it is alot worse, I agree... I didn't think it would be quite this traumatic and horrible. But it is. I was reading from MSN's homepage, they're predicting that it might take many many months, even years to put New Orleans and the surrounding areas back together. It's just so devastating... I can't even imagine what those people are going through, and also the people who survived and got out in time... they don't even know when they can go back home or even if they still have a home for that matter...

It is just really hard to imagine what it is they are going through. They have almost nothing and nowhere to go. It isnt suprising that people are acting the way that they are, its just too bad.

I can understand the looting for food and water... if I had to choose between looting and death... I think the choice is pretty obvious.
One thing I didn't like was one time I saw police officers raiding a store for supplies, but keeping everyone else from doing it. Now THAT'S just wrong... what makes them better than everyone else?
Also, the people there shouldn't be shooting or anything.... honestly, do you think shooting somebody makes them want to help you at all? Geez...

Now THAT'S just wrong... what makes them better than everyone else? maybe they were raiding it because they were planning on using it to help the people in need, but they didn't want the people doing it themselves because it would end up in a chaotic mess....or maybe that's me just being the optimist again.. Also, the people there shouldn't be shooting or anything.... honestly, do you think shooting somebody makes them want to help you at all? Geez... I agree... if someone's shooting at me, that just makes me wanna leave them and get outta the situation...I understand they were desperate, but that's the wrong way of making yourself heard... it's just dumb...
