Ok. I'm kinda pissed off about this. We just had our weekly team meeting here at work. There was a discussion about appropriate decorations that should be allowed in the clinic. First I should explain what happened last year at Christmas. Someone posted up a religious card on the wall. Well, our clinic coordinator decided to take it down, simply because she didn't believe it was appropriate, even though that is the whole meaning of christmas in the first place. And she used her position to justify verbally attacking the person who hung it up.
She was stating today how Christmas is not a religious holiday but a cultural holiday. (whatever, it is SO a religious holiday) and that she will continue to make complaints about it if stuff like that is posted. However, it'll do no good whatsoever because our program administrator clearly stated in the meeting that unless we get a complaint from a PATIENT, then everything is approved by him.
ugh, she just makes me so mad, I don't like her in the first place, but this just makes me dislike her even more. I mean, I'm not a hugely religious person, and I don't mind that stuff being hung up. No matter what you believe, if you are in a certain country, you should respect that country's way of celebrating holidays. Even if you don't necessarily believe how they are celebrating.
She says that in our medical setting, we shouldn't be promoting religion..but it's not promoting, it's just our way of getting into the holiday spirit. It's hard to believe that she doesn't see it like that. Narrow-minded people just irritate me..
