I understand how his age is relevant. No one expects that kind of thing from a 15 year-old. Hell, how does a 15 year-old even get their hands on a gun in Australia!? What I don't understand is, why his religion and his background are so important. Along with that what they believe about the attack was 'politically motivated' and also where the connection to terrorism has come from!? I mean. “We’re a long way from establishing a full picture of this man, his exact motivations still remain a mystery to us,” he said “We are exploring every avenue with regard to why he did what he did.”But they know it's terrorism, not just a simply criminal act carried out by a maniac... Makes perfect sense, yes? Read more on the incident: www.news.com.au/national/crime/parramatta-gunman-identified-teen-fired-multiple-shots-outside-police-hq-on-charles-st/story-fns0kb1g-1227554824011

Wow. That is just horrible. Especially considering that the victim was stated to be such a gentle person. I agree, just how did he have access to a gun in Australia?! I was under the impression that guns are illegal there. I think that fact seems like it would be more unsettling for residents, though I'm in no way saying that the actual crime isn't unsettling. The only logical reasoning I can see with their classifying what he did as terrorism is that they're really trying to just explore every possible motivation.

There are guns, and they aren't totally illegal, but very strictly managed.
I understand they may be exploring every possible motivation. But wouldn't it make sense to explore first and label later?

Yes, it would make sense. But people are too damn judgmental sometimes. And too set in their ways to want to even attempt to change or see things in a different light. Trust me, it annoys me to death because I have had to deal with people like that before, entirely too often.
