Live Updates: www.weather.com/storms/tornado/news/tornado-severe-threat-texas-kansas-oklahoma-nebraska-may6Ugh, I don't even live in OKC anymore and I'm already tired of this severe weather! Last I heard one of the tornadoes on the ground on I-35, they are thinking is an F2, at least a mile wide and is possibly moving up towards where my mom and brother live. I just talked to my mom about 30 minutes ago and it was only raining at her house, so I'm thankful that she's okay, but now I'm going to be worried all night while this goes on... I hate feeling so helpless all the way out here in northern Cali!

As much as I wished I lived somewhere else, I see things like this and am thankful it's not something we deal with here very often. Hope your mom and brother made it through OK.

Yeah, that is one thing I will never ever EVER miss about Oklahoma. It's scary shit to deal with. Thanks endo, they are okay as far as I know right now. I get alerts on my phone about the weather out there, and they've been dealing with major flash flooding and more tornado watches ever since. There was actually a guy streaming live video on Meerkat of the tornado around one of the major college campuses that is around the area that always gets hit when a tornado strikes, so I was watching that off and on the whole night too.

That is scary. We had that derecho here a few years back that the weather forcasters say is a somewhat common storm, but neither I or my wife had ever heard of one til it hit us. It was like a sideways tornado. In the sky and flat clouds moving fast that tore everything up. The only time we ever had to use our homeowners insurance. That terrified me, couldn't imagine being in a tornado. Hope tornado season is relatively calm for everyone this year.

Yeah, I've never heard of that either, but it sounds just as scary as a tornado. At least it's good that you had the insurance to help deal with it. Throughout all the years of growing up in OKC, we were very lucky to never be directly hit by any of the tornadoes. It always conveniently went around us, and when one did get close to us, it was still about 5 miles away and really only damaged some boats that were docked at a harbor. But whenever there's a tornado watch/warning, it still always scares me to death. My brother was the kind of person who always wanted to go outside and see it though. I'm just hoping everything dies down significantly by the time July/August rolls around, because that's when I'm planning on visiting, for my nephew's 2nd birthday. I'll be there for just under 3 weeks so I really don't want to have to deal with that crap while I'm there...

Storms in Bama today. Just a way of life around here. Aw, yeah very true. I hope things are okay where you are and not too serious! My dad was driving back home (Pennsylvania) last night and he ran into lots of rain in Arkansas... my cousin who lives in a small town outside Little Rock posted a video on Facebook of her flooded backyard too.. It looks like it's pretty bad over there.
