On Sunday, a tv station over here showed a pic of a young child, and made comments about her on air, ridiculing her appearance. Her parents have protested of course, but the compere and the tv station refused to apologize. I know of two families that won't be watching their channel in the future!

Wow, that is horrible! It's bad enough that kids get bullied by their peers, but to be bullied by a TV station as well? And even worse for a girl because so much pressure is put on them from the media in how they "should" look. That's just sad. I don't blame those families that aren't watching the station, I would do the same.

That just sounds horrible. I know girls are critiqued on looks more than guys are (which is wrong to begin with), but this is just stupid. If it was me, I'd literally be driving my way down to the station and requesting someone to apologize to me in person.

Me too... and I may be carrying a big stick too! (by the way, one of the boycotting families is mine).
