Ugh, I hate my tax return this year. I've never ever EVER had to pay, but of course, this is the year that I have to. And it's not cheap either. I still don't fully understand why I have to pay, since I didn't even make that much to begin with. And I got a pretty nice return back last year with only having worked the last 4 months of the year. But it's getting close to the deadline to file/pay and I was planning on filing for an extension but I just found out that I'd still have to pay by the 17th of this month, no matter if I filed for an extension or not. Ugh.

I am frustrated too I have never had to pay and this year is the first and it is a lot. I don't know what they expect, I am a student, I work and I don't live off of my parents. I don't even make a lot of money I don't understand how it all works because I don't have the money to pay them:(

Yeah, exactly the same here. Except that I don't work at the moment (had to quit because of issues with the company during the holiday season last year, just was NOT worth the gas I was using to do the job). I don't know how they expect people like us to be able to pay so much, especially when we don't make enough in the first place. Though I just received a letter in the mail today that my previous employer was involved in some law suit that entitles me to a payment of around $140. Not much, but at least it's something. Not nearly close to what they owe me for gas mileage, though.

Geeez...I hope others are having better luck with their taxes. I am not even sure of the process of what I can do because I really can't pay....I am confused by most of the process. *sigh*

I agree taxes are a pain and when I worked I just used to pay a little more than I had to to cover that end of year shock. Ofcourse now I am on the pension I am very happy.

I'm kind of avoiding filing my taxes again this year because I don't want to have to deal with the shock of having to pay again. I know I'll probably have to, because I did some work for my dad's company on the side, which I guess was considered under the table because he didn't take out taxes for it. It wasn't a very large amount though, so hopefully it won't be too bad. But yeah, at the very least, it's going to have to wait until after I get back from my vacation to Pennsylvania next week.

Ugh, this again! I so hate taxes. Though I've now gotten used to the fact that I have to pay every year, since I'm a contractor and I don't have the option to have them take taxes out of my check every month. I'm just dreading the amount. I was able to utilize item deductions last year, taking the total amount down to around $900 from $3,000; but I don't think I'm going to be so lucky this year because I can't claim as much as I did then. I'm just crossing my fingers that I'll be able to pay off the majority of my credit card before April 15th, so that I can have room to put another shitload of money on it.

At this moment I have not begun organizing. In 2015, I gave to the Vietnam Veterans of America.

You should be able to set it up to pay quarterly, not that that sweetens the deal any, paying is paying. Luckily I didn't owe, but my returns weren't nearly as much as I got back working at CrapStop. I guess making minimum wage has it's advantages after all. Still glad I'm back to making decent money even if I hardly got anything back. Good luck with it April.

Yeah, I'd be happy with getting hardly anything back, over having to pay, haha. And every year that I've been a contractor, I try to remember to set aside part of every paycheck I get (since I get paid monthly) to prepare for taxes, but it never seems to work out. Especially since I got my credit card, I always seem to be trying to pay that off instead. It'll be okay in the end though, just gotta get it over with.
