i wanted to discuss when do people draw the line between letting the internet effect thier outside lifes?
there are some people out there who take the net very personally. and some who come on here just for something to do. i used to but then i realized: what is the sense? i shouldnt let some people who i will never truly know effect my life. that doesnt mean i still shouldnt respect others. i just think you can have online friends but not allow thier well being to take over your life. if shanny, april or x/o stopped coming online or we never got to chat, i am not going sit here pondering what will become of my life. they can take care of themselves, make thier own choices. i may be a bit dissapointed but nothing excessive. i used to let forum posts make me angry but i dropped that ignorant way of thinking long ago too. i just post and not bother to care about negativity. i dont mind discussing things with people, i find it fun, but in no way will it effect my outside life. i still like coming to cyn and posting here. probly stick around for as long as it stays open. i just like that people can be nice here but not act like this is some apartment and we are living together. i find it dumb when people take things to that personal kinda level. i am glad i outgrew some of the ignorance i had about the net.

yeah, I used to be that way because really coming online was the only thing exciting ever going on in my life but I have also realized that I can let it become my life. I can see why I did it before though, and maybe those who do take things to the extreme when they come on, it is a mean of escaping from the other things that are going on in their life. I know it was for me.

Yeah I agree with you Tim. The internet shouldn't govern how people live their lives or anything... don't get me wrong though, if anything ever happened to any of you, I would be very sad, because even though I actually don't know any of you in person, it feels like I do because we've been a part of this CYN community for the past 3 years. But in all honesty, how would we even know if something happened? I've thought of that sometimes... the only way anybody would know if something happened to me was probably if Keith told you guys, since he'd be the only one from the forum that would be aware. That's what I don't like about the impersonalness of forums. But I suppose there's nothing we can do about that. But anyway, that's another topic. The gist of what I'm saying is that I agree with ya, Tim.

I do like to take things people say online as if they are indeed 'real' people... But I have long since learned to become upset over something that somebody might say... no use to that. A whole lot of ignorant and cruel people out there that just feel like trying to agitate somebody... Interestingly enough, I've also wondered what would happen should I suffer an untimely demise What if I got hit by a bus... my god! Who would tell the forum-goers?! Seriously... I would be concerned that people would think I just abandoned them... Kinda silly, but ah well. If I don't show up for a year, assume I kicked the bucket

well for instance. you get on line at 6 in the morning because you cant sleep and dont need to be to work till 10. some rotten things happen to you within the hour or 2 you spend on line. are you going to allow that to effect the rest of your day? unless you are running some kinda on line bussiness or getting paid to do something. you shouldnt allow what happens on line to mess with your life. just my opinion.
