Hi there. I just joined up after seeing this site on Link Referrrals.
I'm an old(er) person originally from Manchester, now iiving in Perth, Western Australia. I like brass band and pipes and drums music, natural science and website-building. I also enjoy (clean) humour.
My favourite movies are Life of Brian, Cool Hand Luke and West side Story... I guess my age is showing here!

Hi! Nice to meet you. An Aussie who enjoys clean humour? Haha that's something new for me. (No offense intended!) My best friend is an Australia and I've always known Australians to have a real crude sense of humour. Drums? I used to play 'em, a looooong time ago. I can't really now 'cause my room isn't big enough, and I've grown incredibly rusty.
Do you build websites or do you just enjoy how they get built and what goes into them?

I thought playing the drums was like riding a bike - once you learn you can always do it. I used to play the euphonium, a brass horn-type of instrument. I guess my embouchure would need to be re-built to get a sound out now, but I still remember all the theory and the valves etc. Websites: I build them (for personal use - not professionally). By most standards they're pretty ordinary, but I get good reviews, which keeps me going. It's mostly to stop my brain from getting addled.

I wish. Maybe that's the case for some people -- not me, though. My dad plays the drums too however and although he hasn't in a while, he's still pretty good at it. And that's pretty cool!
Oh nice. I've been teaching myself HTML5 CSS and Javascript (only really recently started with Javascript). I'm a newb at it but I like learning.

YOU may not worry about age, but some of us have good reason to. Still, as someone once said (me,I think), "getting old is much better than the alternative". And yes, Manchester, UK... a little place called Cadishead. Heard of it?

Thanks Amanda. Really enjoying it here. Everyone's very sociable, and there's a good range of topics which is easy to browse or add to if you wish.

And yes, Manchester, UK... a little place called Cadishead. Heard of it? No, I don't really know Manchester too well. I had a boyfriend in Rochdale once and we went to Manchester a couple of times to shop! I was there on Sunday as it was the next train to leave our town. I love afflecks palace there

I bet Afflecks is a fascinating place, but it wasn't built 'til 1982 and I was long gone by then. I'd love to see it one day. Maybe when I'm old (lol) I'll go back and see it and visit the old haunts.

Oh right.. Yeah It is great, there was something like it in Birmingham called 'oasis' or 'the oasis market' but that's getting smaller and smaller and more mainstream. Afflecks has kept its way , except for the lack of 'new rock boots' but thats happening everywhere.
Its great going back to old places. Fair enough I have only been out of Birmingham 7 years and I don't actually live that far from there, but I love going through places I once lived.

Welcome philofperth. You are a youngster compared with me. Hubby and I lived in Perth for a couple of years at a place called Waneroo north of Perth. Nice place. Look forward to getting to know you.

I find that hard to believe! I'm not a youngster compared to ANYBODY, I don't think! Methuselah would have been jealous. I live a few K's south of Wanneroo, in Heathridge (Kingsley area). Look forward to your company also.
