Ahh, yeah I don't like doctors either. But not only for your reason, simply because they usually don't have good news...

Doctor's also think you have all the time in the world. They make you wait on them, FOREVER! I had to got to the doctor for a routine medical/drug screening because I got a new job. I went in last week and they made me come in again, when they could have done everything in one day. The for my 8am appointment, the doctor didn't even show up, luckily another doctor was there to take me in. lol, thanks, had to get that off my chest,

Wow, that's highly unprofessional! ??? Was there a specific reason the doctor didn't show up? I've never had that happen... but luckily my doctor growing up was also a friend of my mom's and I remember him always being very funny, especially since I had to go see him so often (I used to get earaches EVERY six months when I was little).

I am not sure why she didn't show up. The nurse, who was really nice, told me that she is never there that early 8am..... so I am not sure why they scheduled me at that time. lol It is nice to have a good doctor, especially one who makes you laugh

Well, I had to go see the doctor today for my ear issue (incredibly clogged up and sounds are muffled to me, highly uncomfortable to live with ???) and I confirmed again that I hate doctors. They still never deliver good news either. First off, I could hardly understand him and it seemed like he had no idea what I was talking about when I told him my issue... I know exactly what is going on because I've been dealing with this issue all my life, what with having ear infections/aches every 6 months, but it hasn't been so bad that I had to go in to the doctor in a long time. But he seemed to think I was losing my hearing in my left ear because I was talking about how sounds appear muffled to me. Then he says that my blood pressure is significantly high... though I think it was just nerves because I'm always incredibly nervous at the doctor's office, and always have been. But when looking up how dangerous having high blood pressure is, it's kind of scaring me. My family has a history of heart disease and bad stuff like that. -sigh- But I need to go measure it myself at stores where they offer it (you know those machines outside the pharmacy) and see if it's still so high. I hate that I had to switch doctors because it would have been so much easier going to the same one I'd been going to when I was younger, where he already knew exactly what was going on and could prescribe the right meds to fix it fast. I guess that's one of the downfalls about moving 1600 miles away though...

Well with my experience they take a guess what is wrong with you. I had a problem wasn't happy so changed doctors she gave the same opinion, so I went to a specialist and they were both wrong. As you can imagine have no faith in them at all. I believe they prescribe so many tables that aren't necessary.

We just had to go to the ER last night for my boyfriend who was rear-ended by a semi while on the drive home. Although there was no real damage to the car, his neck was very stiff and he had some tingling and numbness in his arms, and he's had neck problems in the past so we were worried. But just going to do that costed an arm and a leg, as the saying goes... it's ridiculous. Plus, we were there about 4 hours, most of the time just waiting on the doctor.

I was going to moan about how rubbish doctors are here, until i read that it cost an arm and a leg. I suppose I should be grateful that we don't have to pay. However, when my fella was attacked he had a swollen head and could hardly breath.. Still took an hour for him to be seen (head injury should be 10 mins). When he finally got seen they put him out back for xrays to his chest and they forgot about him. It was new years eve and they had 2 doctors on.. What the hell?
Also, people have to wait months sometimes for operations. I work at a vets and we can always fit something in in the next 7 days.

Wow, that's just horrible. Especially having to wait an hour to even be seen! When we got there that night, it wasn't busy and he was back with them within minutes after arriving. And even though they did get busy a little later, everybody was taken back right after they'd checked in at the front desk. Though that might have to do with the fact that it's one of the smaller towns in the area too.. because I've been to the ER for the hospital where my boyfriend works and it's always been packed, with hardly an empty seat available. He's doing fine, as far as I can tell, he still has the pain in his neck, but he's been wearing the cervical collar they gave him and taking pain pills. I'm just hoping he'll be okay by the time we leave for our vacation next week, since we'll be stuck in a plane and then driving across some possible snow afterwards. Oh and my ear is fine now too, that post was awhile back, but ironically I just got over another case of it recently. It usually lasts about a month and a half for me, but it's back to normal now.

I had to get my knee X-Rayed last week. Went to the doctor for the results but before I get them I had to have a blood test done.
I wondered what that was all about and I asked the practice nurse why the blood test was needed and she said it was possible that I had Gout.
My left knee is very painful.
