well i have been having scheduling problems between my two work places. and it is very stressfull. reasons being my primary job keeps changing the schedule after i give it to the 2nd place. and it makes me angry because i dont wanna look bad. the 2nd place really appreciates my work and compliments me. so i wanna honor the compliments. i have butted heads with the manager of my primary job over the scheduling but it does no good. just very stressful because i am tempted to call the union or human resources but i dont want the wrong thing said to the manager. makes me nervous that he may caught wind that something like that is my doing. i am keeping the primary for the money and benefits. i dont wanna lose my job at the 2nd. i am very stressed and nervous with the not knowing what to do or what is gonna happen. i wish things were easier. the process shouldnt be hard but they make it so. i could rant and gripe for hours but i know it wont change my current reality.

Hi Anarchy.
That sounds like a big headache. Is that right that they are changing the schedule after they've set it out? Over here (I have no idea where you're from) they have to give you at least 2 weeks notice. Do they even give you notice when they change it? Perhaps arranging to have a fixed schedule might be better?
There's also nothing wrong with ranting when you're stressed out even if you know it won't get you anywhere (except maybe some very odd looks if you're doing it to yourself in public).

Good on you. Stick to your guns!
But surely if the change it so soon after posting it and with no warning you have some rights? I'd be investigating that or any agreement/contract you may have signed

Yes, I'd have to agree with the whole putting-your-foot-down plan. I actually had that same problem alot when I worked 2 jobs. Although it was slightly different...both jobs would change schedules at the last minute. It wasn't too big of a problem, however, because the two stores were located right next to each other But I remember my two managers actually fighting about which place would be able to schedule me for whichever time... even though I usually worked at both places every day. It was a nightmare. All I can tell you as a form of advice is to not let them push you around like that with scheduling. Once your primary job makes the final schedule, tell them that that is what you're working and they can't make any changes. They are aware that you have another job, right? You'd think they would be respectful of that for you.

no the primary place doesnt respect anything i do. the manager can be a psycho. i only stay for the benefits really. hard to find a job with benefits specially at part time.
