Hi Everybody..
I'm a new face... the elusive spirit of the Night has found new haunting grounds........
LOL
I just crossed over from R.O.W. - after over two years of steadfastly keeping my forum m*mebership under control.. but just couldnt put it off any longer LOL
okay.. me.. the elusive spirit of the Night..
I'm a 22 yr old (my 23rd is in amonth) aussie girl who is studying archaeology at uni. I finished my undergrad course last year, and this year have been researching for my Honours thesis - which is due in a mere 20 days *freaks out* I have plans of future postgrad study, but right now i just wanna get out on the meat market and earn some dough... and give my brain a chance to thaw..
when i am not studying my *rse off, i am sleeping.. and when i'm not sleeping i am either reading, or online at my various waterholes.. of which i have quite a few.. I'm a Global Mod at ROW, i started a forum for all things literary ((more about this below)), i run an online supportgroup for fibrmyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome at care2.com, and own another 4 groups there, then there is everything else LOL blogs=> myspace; 360° Yahoo - i have another 2, one at care2.com and a blogspot one, but i never use them LOL
I also have become emeshed in Flixster.com - which is all about movies.. raitings, reviews, associated media (vids & pics) as well as the neverendingquiz LOL - my prof there is elusivespirit.flixster.com/ - hell, lets just say that i am a complete nerd!! i study my butt off 24/7, but when i have 5 seconds spare ((actually, i procrastinate WAY too much, so its more than 5 mins LOL)) i read or go online..
books: anything by Laurell K Hamilton (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter & Merry Gentry series), and Charles de Lint (Psuedonym for darker books is Samuel M Key), also love David Gemmell, Raymond E Feist, Isobelle Carmody, JRR Tolkein, Mercedes Lackey, D*ck Francis, Nora Robberts, Madeline Brent etc genres are mostly Fantasy, Horror, SF; Mystery/Thriller; the Classics (Jane Austen, Poe etc), and then i dabble in romance & historical novels - i read basically what ever i can get my hands on LOL
music: Slipknot, Godsmack, Sevendust, Tool, SOAD, NIN, Norma Jean, The Butterfly Effect, Boy Hits Car, Black Sabbath, Moonspell, Stabbing Westwards, The Cure, Lacuna Coil, Machinehead, Kittie, Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle, Sepultura, Pantera, Metallica, - and then getting a bit more eclectic: tori amos (favourite singer), depeche mode, ani di franco, jeff buckley, depeche mode, sarah mclachlan, muse,
etc
^mostly heavy + industrial, but other genres and artists leak in LOL
movies: checkout my profile at flixster LOL its got em all! elusivespirit.flixster.com/
i also love hanging out at my favourite bar with my mate sam catching the local scene - we have such a great metal + heavy rock scene for such a small city LOL i've discovered some great new music, noteworthy is Prey and Eyeless Youth (can be found on my myspace prof if anyone is interested)
I started a forum eloquentwords.proboards79.com/ at the begining of the year - its been on the boil for a long time.. i had started it at the end of 2005, but my friend Lyk (april should recruncher her) made me up a gorgeous one for my birthday! i was previously just playing around with skins LOL she is a whiz.. anyways, over the years i have improved my computerskills (all self taught) and now i've created more skins there.. my site is a World of Words - a haven and a hangout for those fellow bookwyrms and those who write themselves, to discuss literature, share their own work, and we actually spend most time in the games room LOL i've been too busy for pr, so my massive 14 crunchers all discovered it by word of mouth LOL however, next year I wont have to spend all my time researching my uni work, and can finally go on a crunchership drive LOL
^this is a very long intro and i went off on a major tangent.. so i guess that is enough for now... ask any questions if you want to know anything..
Always,
Jacq
